Trick o Treat Ready?

It is our duty as pet owners to keep our pets safe and healthy. In order for this to happen, we need to protect our animals from unwanted situations. We want to prevent avoidable incidents from happening.  In honor of National Animal Safety and Protection Month and Holloween we will list ways to provide our animals with a safe and animal friendly environment.

Ways to keep your animal safe:

  • Provide them with exactly what they need- food, water and a comfy place to sleep.
  • Always keep up with their yearly doctor visits.
  • Be sure their environment is safe (less glassware around, unwanted foods in a cabinet with limited access, small pieces/toys in a bin and treats in a stored area that is unreachable for your pet. We a fun pet playpen- click here.
  • Nutrition is key! It helps animals go about their day in the right manner. Adding an extra “boost” or vitamin is a plus to keep our animals healthy. Especially for our overweight pets we must provide them with a suitable diet. Take a look at that we offer: click here. Whether you have a dog or cat or small animal, we have plenty to choose from!
  • TLC—always give your pet hugs and kisses. You can never give too many cuddles or pet friendly plush toys. Check out what De’ Vora has for your pet! Click here.

While we keep up with our own pet’s responsibilities let’s not forget about the animals in zoos and nature centers. Have you visited your local zoo for Holloween lately? Here are a couple in NY & NJ

  1. Cape May Zoo, NJ
  2. Central Park Zoo, NYC
  3. Staten Island Zoo, NYC
  4. Drive through Safari @ Six Flags, NJ

Feel free to use our suggestions on how to keep your pet safe and take a day trip to visit a zoo or 2! And always remember to keep our animals safe and protected.
