I have a large Gsd and I purchased the L/XL square. I put treats and dry dog food in. And he figured it out with no help. But the one hole I feel is too big. There should be a way to make it smaller for smarter dogs. I really filled it up the first time and it only took him half an hour to get all the food out. He did get a workout doing it and slept solidly for a good hour afterwards. I put duck tape on the ends of the big hole the second time and it was more challenging. I also used less food.
My dog loved this and it really worked! It would keep her busy and filed her nails! She hates her nails clipped so this is a life changer!!

My dog is awful at the vet and does not like his nails trimmed. This has been excellent so far! I do recommend not letting your dog use it continuously. He will sometimes scratch the side of his nails so I have to make sure he doesn’t file into his quick.
I have a 2 year old 75lb black lab pit bull mix so it's a STRUGGLE to get him to hold still to trim his nails. The scratch square has changed our lives! He loves to play with it, his nails are filed down in the process, and he gets treats! What's not to love!? It's absolutely worth every single penny! I've recommended it to all of my dog owner friends!
