My do really likes playing with the Scratch Square, but unfortunately he'd rather use his teeth and not his paws...therefore, I had to take it away from him because his teeth will get messed up with the sandpaper :(
I bought a scratch square for my two Brittanies this summer and tried it out with the dogs immediately. The older one couldn't be bothered but our 6 year old couldn't get enough of it. We did have to trim his nails to really see the benefit. It's great at filling down his front claws so they're nice and smooth. We learned two things. Our dog is a lefty so only one paw benefits from the square. We were able to sit with him and use his right paw to sand down the right paw though. Also, although it should have been obvious, this doesn't work on rear claws. If you have any ideas on how to get all 4 paws involved we're all in!
When we came across the stand in Wildwood, we were a little hesitant to make the purchase. However, we can’t express how wrong we were! The bulldog loves her new scratch square! She learned how to toss it for her treats and when we started praising her for scratching at it, she doesn’t and looks at us for praised . Playing with it for just 15 minutes gets her so stimulated! Absolutely the best thing we could have purchased!
